Recently Stefanos Tsitsipas got massive backlash from tennis fans after reposting a reel on his Instagram story. While Tsitsipas has his share of fans owing to his on-court game, many fans were unhappy with his ‘misogynistic’ views.
The reposted reel highlighted the differences between men and women. The video depicted men as the “providers” of the family, responsible for supplying necessities, while women were portrayed as the “multipliers,” who enhance and complete what is given to them.
The tennis community reacted strongly to Tsitsipas’s repost, expressing shock and disappointment. Critics accused the World No. 11 of holding regressive views and labeled him a misogynist. The backlash highlighted the community’s disapproval of Tsitsipas’s apparent beliefs.
“This is actually DISGUSTING from Tsitsipas. Very disappointing…,” a fan commented on X. Soon more comments followed, making this matter one of the most trending topics on the internet.

However, the criticism did not stop there. Fans were particularly surprised and upset that Tsitsipas had reposted a misogynistic reel despite knowing his girlfriend, Paula Badosa, would see it. One fan commented on X, “Free my girl Paula wtf,” in support of Badosa.

Fans come in support of Paula Badosa and criticize Stefanos Tsitsipas
Fan criticism is nothing new for Stefanos Tsitsipas. Often some fans blame his girlfriend Paula Badosa for bearing with his ‘misogynistic’ views.
Even recently, when Tsitsipas had a bad run at Roland Garros and the tournament before that, many fans blamed Badosa for it. However, this time most fans were in support of her and critiqued Tsitsipas heavily. Check out some of the fan comments from X:
DISGUSTING is that all the hypocrites who call Stefanos misogynist & sexist attack Paula and say she is ruining his career like this misogynist woman @LoliLondon .

Nonetheless, these trolls add to the criticism the Greek received after losing in the fourth round of the Halle Open, where he was defeated by Jan-Lennard Struff in straight sets to start his grass court season.
