A French Journalist revealed the possible tournaments where Rafael Nadal could play his last game. While there are rumors about him retiring at the upcoming Laver Cup, it is possible that he could hang up his racket at an exhibition event as well.
Nadal is currently playing his last year on tour. He has struggled with injuries and has not won a title since his French Open triumph in 2022. He recently took part in the 2024 Paris Olympics, where he failed to win a medal in either the singles or the doubles. And most recently, he withdrew from the US Open.
However, Nadal has confirmed that he will take part in the Laver Cup next. With that announcement came a lot of retirement speculations as fans wondered if he could emulate Roger Federer in ending his career at the event. However, French journalist Benoit Maylin believes otherwise.
In a recent interview, Maylin listed a couple of tournaments where Nadal could retire. He also strongly believes that the Davis Cup should ideally be his last tournament. With the Spaniard as an ambassador for Saudi Arabia tennis, the journalist also suggested that he might retire at possibly a million-dollar exhibition match.
So if he has to stop this year, let him do it in Spain, defending his country’s colors in the Davis Cup, with Carlos Alcaraz. That would be beautiful.

The Davis Cup is set to commence on November 10 in Malaga, Spain. There is a chance for Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz to play together one last time, making it the perfect tournament for the 38-year-old to retire.
