David Rocher, French linesman has been suspended for 18 months by the Tennis Integrity Unit for his involvement in gambling and violating the gambling rules established in the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program (TACP).

David Rocher was accused of placing eleven match bets between January and October 2019 and was also charged of failing to co-operate with the Tennis Integrity Unit (TIU). Rocher admitted the first accusation but challenged the second one, the organization said in a statement. The case was resolved by the Anticorruption Hearing Officer Ian Mill QC who found that the linesman did not co-operate with the TIU and handed him a six month ban for gambling and a 18-month suspension for failing to co-operate fully.

Rocher has been fined $5000 in addition to the suspension

The two bans will apply simultaneously, which means that from the date of ruling, December 6, 2020 to February 6, 2022, Rocher will not be permitted to attend or officiate any tennis match organzied by an official tennis authority. In addition, he has also been fined $5,000.

Earlier this month, Stanislav Poplavskyy had been handed a lifetime ban for his involvement in match fixing. Aleksandrina Naydenova, the Bulgarian tennis player was also handed a lifetime ban by the Tennis Integrity Unit. The TIU is setting it clear that it will not tolerate any involvement in betting and match-fixing scandals.
