Alexander Zverev was the runner-up at US Open 2020 and will be back at the French Open after missing the Italian Open. He is playing the first round against Dennis Novak ranked 91 in the ATP rankings.
On the other hand, the Austrian lost his opening round at Kitzbuhel Open. Losing his only clay match in 2020, Novak now enters the Roland Garros. The duo will face off in the first round, and have not played against each other. The round should be easily won by Alexander Zverev.
Alexander Zverev vs Dennis Novak: Preview

The German is in great shape and sharp with strokes. He was phenomenal against Thiem in US Open finals too, however, he wasn’t lucky enough to seal the match. He took a break from the Italian Open but has been hitting on the clay court.
Dennis Novak will start his run at the Paris after losing at Kitzbuhel early in 1st round. He has a poor record of 0-1 for clay as he enters the French slam. Despite reaching his highest rank in March before the season halted, he will still struggle to win a single set against the better player Zverev.
Alexander Zverev vs Dennis Novak: Head to Head

The duo has never faced off and will play against each other for the first time. Novak’s best Grand Slam performance came at the Wimbledon in 2018, when he reached the third round. His other three main draw appearances in Grand Slams ended in first-round exits. Meanwhile, Zverev is expected to make it towards the last few rounds at least.
Alexander Zverev vs Dennis Novak: Prediction

This should be an easy start for Zverev. He is the favourite to win in straight-sets despite his lack of preparation on clay. The German has been having a phenomenal 2020 and will look to advance similarly.
Match Prediction: Alexander Zverev wins in straight sets.
