It was a good day in office for all the seeds as they booked their tickets for the 2nd Round at the French Open 2020. World No.1 Novak Djokovic, 22nd-seed Dusan Lajovic, 7th-seed Matteo Berrettini and 17th-seed Pablo Carreno Busta all made it to the next round after comprehensive wins in their opening matches.

Moreover, Hamburg Open 2020 champion Andrey Rublev pulled off a miraculous victory to advance to the next Round.

Novak Djokovic cruises past Mikael Ymer

Djokovic kickstarted his proceedings at Roland Garros in fine fashion as the 33-year-old Serb crushed Swede Mikael Ymer in straight sets 6-0, 6-2, 6-3. It was a typical ‘Djokovic’ performance as the 17-time Major winner did not even gave an inch to Ymer.

It was overall an excellent day for the Serbian tennis as 22-seed Dusan Lajovic advanced to the second round after a difficult win over Gianluca Mager. Lajovic faced stiff resistance from the Italian before defeating him 6-4, 7-6(4), 4-6, 6-1.

Matteo Berrettini downs Vasek Pospisil

7th-seed Berrettini began on a solid note here at Roland Garros as the Italian trounced Vasek Pospisil in straight sets 6-3, 6-1, 6-3. It was a good confidence-boosting victory for Berrettini and it will make the Italian ready for tougher challenges ahead.

17-th seed and US Open semifinalist Pablo Carreno Busta began at the French Open with an easy victory over Australian John Millman. The Spaniard got the better of Millman in straight sets 6-3, 6-2, 7-5.

Andrey Rublev played the match of the day

Being two sets down and then recover to win the match is no mean feat. Up against experienced player Sam Querrey, 13th-seed Andrey Rublev looked down and out after losing the first two sets. However, the Russian showed great composure to down Querrey 6-7(5-7), 6-7(4-7), 7-5, 6-4, 6-3 in arguably the match of the day.
