French Open 2020: Mayar Sherif vs Karolina Pliskova Preview, Head-to-Head, Prediction for Roland Garros

2nd-seed Karolina Pliskova will launch her campaign against qualifier Mayar Sherif in a Round of 128 contest at the French Open 2020. Pliskova has regained her form and if she is not affected by her injury that she took in Rome, she can aspire to lift her maiden Grand Slam at Roland Garros.
Mayar Sherif vs Karolina Pliskova: Preview

Talking about the performance leading to the tournament, Mayar Sherif lost in first round at both the Prague Open and W60+H Saint-Malo 31A. The 24-year old Egyptian though has done extremely well to enter into the main draw of the French Open.
On the other hand, after getting stunned by Caroline Garcia in the second round at the US Open, Pliskova made a tremendous comeback and was almost able to defend her title at the Italian Open. Unfortunately, the 28-year old Czech had to retire from the final against Simona Halep in Rome and it will be very interesting to see how the injury affects her performance at Roland Garros.
Mayar Sherif vs Karolina Pliskova: Head-to-Head
It will be the first meeting between the two ladies. So the head-to-head record stands at 0-0.
Mayar Sherif vs Karolina Pliskova: Prediction

Ranked World No.172, Sherif has no chance whatsoever to even challenge Pliskova, let alone win the match. Even if the Czech hasn’t recuperated from her injury, it is highly unlikely that it will be a hindrance in her dominating win over the Egyptian. Sherif should take pride from reaching the main draw of the French Open and she can play fearlessly but has the tiniest of chances to even threaten Pliskova.
Match Prediction: Karolina Pliskova defeats Mayar Sherif comfortably in straight sets.
