French Open 2020: Stan Wawrinka beats Andy Murray in Round 1
Roland Garros court Phillipe Charter, witnessed the Scot Andy Murray in action again. But unfortunately, the will card contender lost out to Stan Wawrinka 6-1,6-3, 6-2. The match was much anticipated but offered little contest.
Stan Wawrinka looked sharp. He has played a lot of tennis on clay including the Prague Open Challenger title he won. Whereas, Andy was returning to the same court against the same opponent where he witnessed one of his worst injuries.
Stan wins booming 47 winners
The last time Andy Murray played against Stan Wawrinka was at the 2017 French Open match. He claimed that his issues with the hip started soon after the five-setter. Now, in 2020 the duo met again at the revamped Court Phillipe Chartier, the match was one-sided as Stan Wawrinka won in straight sets.
Andy Murray hit 10 winners but made whopping 26 unforced errors. While hitting the with 27 unforced errors Swiss won 42 points with winners. After crashing out in the first round at the Italian Open, Wawrinka will be satisfied with his much better performance. Murray and Wawrinka were earlier spotted at the courts practicing together.
Stan Wawrinka cruised to Round 2 of the French Open and will hope to make it big at the slam.
