Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is one of the most recognizable athletes in the world who commands respect unless they are fans of rival teams. One of them is the Philadelphia Eagles, who detest the 2x NFL MVP from the bottom of their hearts.
The streets in Philadelphia witnessed crazy scenes after the Eagles defeated the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX. It was arguably the worst-ever performance of Mahomes’ career, but for the fans in Philly, it was retribution for the heartbreak they suffered two years earlier in Arizona.
In 2022, Jalen Hurts came close to winning the Eagles their second Lombardi in five years, but Mahomes and Co. had the better of them on that occasion. The following year, the Chiefs won another one, rubbing salt in their wounds. His villain phase was well and truly in motion until the Eagles exacted their revenge in NOLA.
On Friday, the Eagles fans once more proved they are not a fan of Patrick Mahomes. During the Super Bowl victory parade, a group of fans brought a whole roasted pig and disguised it to look like the Pro Bowler—with wavy hair and the No. 15 written on its belly.

This kind of banter is nothing new for Mahomes. During the 2024 off-season, the Las Vegas Raiders mocked him with a Kermit doll. Mahomes wasn’t bothered by the development and said the Chiefs will take care of business all in due time. The Raiders lost both games (27-20 and 19-17), with Mahomes throwing 500+ yards and three touchdowns.
Patrick Mahomes hit with tragic news days after Super Bowl LIX loss
Mahomes hasn’t even had enough time to process the Super Bowl loss that he was hit with another unfortunate news. His 78-year-old grandfather (father of mom Randi Mahomes) died in hospice care where he was moved, two days before Patrick and the Chiefs defeated the Bills in the AFC Championship game.

Randi penned a heartfelt message on Instagram.
Hard to find the words of holding my fathers hand as he goes to Heaven. I know he’s in a better place. I love you daddy. Well done, good and faithful servant! Matthew 25:23.
Randi Mahomes wrote
Patrick was especially close to his grandfather. The last time they were seen together was during last year’s Thanksgiving party at his mom’s house.
The setbacks always make a man come back even stronger. The failure in the Super Bowl, taunts by rival fans, and the death of a loved one are enough bulletin board material for Mahomes to put the Chiefs back into the spotlight once more.
