“From start to finish, I’m a whole ‘nother savage”, says Kamaru Usman after he knocks out former teammate Gilbert Burns


UFC reigning Welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman went beast mode in the UFC 258. The Nigerian was defending his title against former teammate, Gilbert Burns. Kamaru showed the world why he deserves to be the welterweight champion. Usman left the audience in awe after his stunning performance.
Kamaru Usman beat his former teammate Gilbert Burns in the third round of the Title bout. He knocked Burns with a jab which ended the match. By winning the bout, Kamaru Usman holds a historic 13 match consecutive winning streak.
In the post-match interview with Joe Rogan, Usman starts off the interview by saying “I’m the varsity” referring to his teammate. Usman continues saying, “My fight IQ is different. It’s different in the gym with me but when you get in here it’s a different ballgame. I’m a whole ‘nother savage and he saw that tonight” talking about his teammate and the level he’s at right now.

Once Kamaru got his interview with Joe Rogan, he did not wait to get words off his chest. The Nigerian spoke about how difficult this fight was given the history between him and Burns. Though he knocked out Burns, the champion gives him full props for his accomplishments.
Kamaru admits that he was hurt by the shots in the first round laid by Gilbert Burns. Usman also was self-aware about how lethal his jab can be and put it to full use. Joe Rogan at the end of the interview calls Usman the greatest welterweight of all time.
The UFC reigning welterweight champion ended his interview by calling out Jorge Masvidal and warns him about the trash talk. He called him out and said, “Step in here and see me.”. Usman offers Masvidal a full camp and says if Masvidal turns it down then he needs to shut up.
