The King of the Ring tournament is proving to be a major success for the WWE. However, one name seems notably absent from the brackets. While other NXT call-ups, such as Carmelo Hayes, Lyra Valkyria, and Ilja Dragunov, were all announced for the tournament, Bron Breakker was notably kept out. This decision clearly did not go down well with the rising superstar.

Before his match against Kale Dixon on Raw, the former NXT Champion clearly seemed upset at not being inserted into the tournament. He channeled his rage into a devastating spear he delivered to his opponent. Further, he hit his opponent with another spear on the outside.

After Breakker threw his opponent back into the ring, the referee went to check on Dixon. The former football player was then declared the winner as a result of a referee stoppage. He clearly was not too happy with the decision. The 26-year-old refused to have his hand raised and claimed he wanted to continue the match.

Breakker, still upset, hit his opponent with a third spear. He further picked up the steel steps to continue his beatdown. This led to several backstage officials coming to the ringside to control the enraged wrestler.

Although the former NXT Tag Team Champion pretended to walk away, he returned to hit his opponent on the head with a steel chair while Dixon’s head was placed in the crook of the steel steps. Later, in a backstage segment, Breakker told Raw GM Adam Pearce that this is what he gets for keeping him out of the King of the Ring tournament.

Why did Raw GM Adam Pearce keep Bron Breakker out of the King of the Ring tournament?

Many fans wondered why Bron Breakker was kept out of the prestigious tournament. The NXT Call-up was not involved in any other feud either and seemed directionless, as he was only taking part in squash matches every week. In a backstage interview with Cathy Kelly, Adam Pearce spoke about this issue last week on Raw.

Pearce admitted that Breakker had near-unlimited potential. Thus, he was one of the first draft picks for the Red brand. However, he believed that the guys in the tournament had proven themselves repeatedly at the top level. He did not want to shove the rising star into the deep end. Further, he claimed that he had already explained this to the former NXT Champion himself.

Breakker interrupted the interview and entered the frame, chuckling. He said that he wanted to make it clear that he would not have been in the deep end with his opponents. Rather, his opponents would have been in the deep end with him.
