Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk squared off inside the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh last night in a title rematch. It was Fury’s opportunity to get his much-needed revenge and recapture the world heavyweight titles. However, the Brit fell short and was definitely not in a pleasing mood.
After 12 rounds of back and forth, Oleksandr Usyk won the fight via unanimous decision. The judges scored the fight 116-112 against Tyson Fury. On top of it, the experimental AI judge scored 118-112, also against the former heavyweight champion. This made Fury extremely pissed and it was pretty clear during his post-fight presser rant.
The AI judge was the brainchild of Saudi Arabia advisor, Turki Alalshikh who wanted to bring in historic change in the sport. He also posted the AI scores on his social media and confirmed that it didn’t affect the official scores. However, Alalshikh was satisfied with the AI and its unbiased scoring but Fury may not agree with that.

‘The Gypsy King’ believed that he did enough to secure victory against Oleksandr Usyk, finding support from many fans online who echoed his sentiments. He went so far as to suggest that Usyk’s win was handed to him as a ‘Christmas gift.’ In response, Usyk remained calm and composed, simply thanking God for his triumph.
Oleksandr Usyk makes fun of Tyson Fury’s comments after his remarkable victory last night
Earlier this year in May, Tyson Fury lost his heavyweight belt to Oleksandr Usyk via a split decision. This time, the boxer was motivated and made his intentions clear during the fight week. Fury remained true to his old self and issued several warnings ahead of the fight as he wanted to end Usyk’s career.
Fury also mentioned that he sacrificed a lot in this fight camp and stayed away from his wife for three months. However, all this didn’t help against Usyk who was a whopping 55 lbs lighter than him. After the win, the champion made sure to rub it on the Brit.

Usyk demonstrated excellent footwork, hand speed, and fight IQ throughout the fight, successfully hitting Fury’s head and body. Despite his best efforts to dominate, Fury’s lack of mobility and conditioning prevented him from matching Usyk’s unrelenting pressure and accuracy. However, the controversial end to the fight has definitely added a new layer to this rivalry.
