Ever since veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers hinted at the possible trade of his former teammate and the six-time Pro Bowler Davante Adams in the New York Jets, there have been nearly a zillion headlines with rumors and speculations in that matter. Although the veteran receiver hasn’t confirmed anything, the Jets players are filled with optimism.
Contrary to what many had expected, the Jets’ star wide receiver Garrett Wilson was as well all in for this potential trade. He believes Adams is someone who can handsomely contribute to the team’s success. In that respect, he was recently asked what’s the one question he would like to ask the Las Vegas Raiders’ WR, and his response was quite unique and interesting.
Is he a reactor or is he a predictor? I kinda know the answer to it but I feel like I can’t imagine him planning a lot of the moves he makes because it’s just too good like if you plan that, how could you plan? You have to be on two sides, right? You have to plan what you’re going to do and then what the DB is going to react with it.Garrett Wilson said during his recent interview with the Up & Adams show
The Jets’ wideout said because of this quality of Adams, he considers him the “smartest dude.” Answering his own question, Wilson believes Adams must be reacting as he assumes but if an opportunity, he would love to ask his question to the veteran.
Garrett Wilson downplays heated training camp exchange with Aaron Rodgers
Recently, a clip from the Jets’ training camp went viral on the internet, where veteran quarterback Rodgers and fourth-year receiver Wilson were seen having a heated discussion, which later resolved with a firm handshake. During Wednesday’s press conference, Wilson was asked about that incident and he assured there are no issues between him and the quarterback.
We’re getting better. We’re gaining an understanding of each other and the way we go about things, the way we think —interpret the game. It’s truly enlightening for me every time we have convos like that despite how it may look.Garrett Wilson said
Though he acknowledged how that discussion was perceived in the media at the end of the day, what matters is both the players are thinking of the team at that moment. He also shared how Rodgers told him to focus on his details.
