Garrett Wilson chimed in the Davante Adams to the New York Jets chatter. The 23-year-old claimed that he would love the chance to work with the All-Pro receiver.
Wilson was at a youth football camp in Morristown, N.J., when he spoke in detail about all the rumors surrounding Adams being linked with a move to the Jets.
I’m excited. I’m with all of it. Anyone we can get into the facility to help this team win games, I’m with it and he’s one of those.Garrett Wilson said per the New York Post
After a failed pursuit of the 31-year-old before the trade deadline last season, the Jets are once again interested in pairing him up with Aaron Rodgers. The Super Bowl winner himself is in the thick of all the talk. While attending the American Century Golf Tournament, he hinted at being eager to play with his former Green Bay Packers teammate.
Adams addressed the rumors earlier this week. He has regular contact with Rodgers, who has asked him several times about a move to the Big Apple. However, the 6-time Pro Bowler for the time being is a Las Vegas Raiders player for the next three seasons unless there’s a new development.
Garrett Wilson on being compared to Davante Adams
Wilson proved to the Jets Nation the reason they selected him 10th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft. He racked up 83 catches for 1103 yards and 4 touchdowns, earning him the Offensive Rookie of the Year award.
Wilson’s textbook route running and quick feet compelled the New York media to draw comparisons with Davante Adams.
To even be mentioned in the same sentence I’m honored, but I’ve still got a long way to go. I know where I want to be so I’ve got to keep my head down & keep working.Garrett Wilson said back then

His first year with Rodgers did not go according to plan, as the 40-year-old tore his Achilles on the first day, missing out on the entire season. The Jets switched several quarterbacks throughout the year. Yet, it did little to slow down Wilson’s output, racking up 95 catches for 1042 yards and 3 touchdowns. However, it wasn’t enough for the Jets to secure a winning season, as they only managed 7 wins.
Wilson is looking forward to his second year with the 4 times NFL MVP. He wants to right the wrongs of past seasons.
I just want to get started. I’m anxious. Every time we get to take the field, every time I get a chance to go out there and play, it’s a blessing. I just want another opportunity to kind of redeem ourselves a little bit.Garrett Wilson said, per the Post
The New York Jets training camp starts on July 24. On the first day of the 2024 season, they will face the San Francisco 49ers.
