Bryson DeChambeau captured his 2nd successive LIV Golf title on Sunday as he won the South Africa event. Following his win, 9-time major champion Gary Player sent a message to him and his league over their success.
DeChambeau came into this event after winning in Singapore a week ago. During the LIV Golf Singapore, the American international defeated Richard T. Lee in a playoff round to claim his 4th LIV Golf title and his first win of the 2026 season.
On Sunday, he found himself in contention once again. Jon Rahm, who won the LIV Golf Hong Kong event in March, would fire a bogey-free score of 63 in the final round to force a playoff.
In the playoffs, DeChambeau came out on top. While Rahm found his 2nd shot in the bunker and eventually made a par on the par-5 18th hole, DeChambeau’s second shot set him up for an eagle putt. Though he missed that, he tapped in for a birdie to claim back-to-back wins.

The timing of these two wins could not have been better for DeChambeau. His next competitive start will be at the Masters Tournament at the Augusta National in April.
Last year, the golfer was in the final pairing with Rory McIlroy for the final round. After the former World No.1 slipped up a bit, he found himself on top of the leaderboard.
However, DeChambeau was unable to maintain the lead. He stumbled up and fell in the rankings. His 3-over par score saw him finish T5 at 7-under par, 4 strokes behind McIlroy, who went on to complete the career grand slam.
This year, the Crushers GC captain would be hoping to do better than that and turn his current winning momentum into major glory in April.
