Current India head coach and former Indian cricketer, Gautam Gambhir, has recently named his all-time India XI in ODIs. He has picked himself and Virender Sehwag as the openers, for they have played together and opened the batting for India for a long time, and it has been one of the most successful opening partnerships.

However, the decision to snub, Rohit Sharma, the current India captain and one of the best ODI player has shocked many fans as Sharma has scored 10866 runs in the 257 ODI innings at an average of 49.16 and strike-rate of 92.4. Gambhir then went on name Rahul Dravid, the former India head coach, at number 3, who has scored 10889 runs in 318 ODI innings, at an average of 39.2 with 12 centuries and 83 half-centuries. He then named, Sachin Tendulkar at number 4 who is the highest run-scorer in ODI cricket with 49 centuries.

Till now, Kohli has played 283 ODI innings, scored 13906 runs, at a stunning average of 58.2 and 93.5 strike-rate. Besides his 50 centuries, he has smashed 72 half-centuries. However, he will not bat at his normal position at number 3.

At number 6, Gambhir picked Yuvraj Singh, who has been a match winner for India in ODI cricket. He was the man of the tournament in ODI World Cup 2011 for his stunning display with both the bat and the ball. Gambhir picked MS Dhoni as the wicket-keeper batter, captain and the finisher.
