Genshin Impact might stop releasing double banners
Genshin Impact started the gameplay mechanics of launching double event wishes for the players from the 2.3 update. The double banners brought two new 5-star characters whereas the 4-star characters remained same in both of the character banners. This feature certainly got an overwhelming response from the players but the case was different for the developers. As a consequence, several fans are holding the belief that HoYoverse might soon bid farewell to this new feature. This article brings out the possible reasons.

Genshin Impact might do away with double banners
So far, Genshin Impact 2.4 update featured the highest number of banners. The update saw the release of two new characters as well as 3 rerun characters which was quite massive and nearly took away all the hard earned primogems by the Travelers. However, a recent revelation made by a prominent YouTuber shows why HoYoverse might stop releasing double banners.
The first phase of the 2.4 update saw the banner of Shenhe and rerun banner of Xiao and as the 4-star characters were same in both of the banners, Genshin Impact data revealed that players spent more on pulling for Xiao as he is one of strongest characters in Genshin Impact.
The poor sale of Shenhe banner might have compelled the developers to release only one banner in the first phase of Genshin Impact 2.5 update. Yae Miko was the only character banner of the 2.5 update and recent leaks have revealed that Ayato also does not have a concurrent banner.
YouTuber Undiscovery Ch has revealed that the double banner mechanic might be completely removed in Genshin Impact citing poor sales. However, double rerun banners might continue to be released. The upcoming rerun banners of the 2.5 update features Raiden and Kokomi and summarizing the 2.6 leaks, it looks like two characters might get a rerun in the second phase.
A Genshin Impact commented on the video released by Undiscovery Ch, “I like this new format. Having 2 double banners in one patch is just too much for me.” One comment exclaimed, “This is actually what I wanted to happen before. New characters should be highlighted and the reruns can be like extra after the main banner ends.”
Fans look quite satisfied with the decision as most of the players are unable to decide which character they should pull for. While it has not been announced officially, that double banners will be removed, the recent update hint the same.
