The Dallas Cowboys secured their first win in two years against division rivals Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. Quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver George Pickens shone for the Cowboys in the Week 12 encounter.
Prescott threw 23-of-36 for 354 yards and two touchdowns and an interception while also rushing five times for nine yards and a touchdown in the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, Pickens had a coming-out day with 146 yards from 9 receptions, including one 43-yard catch. Prescott and Pickens joined forces in the last minutes of the last quarter and completed a 24-yard catch that set the stage for the game-winning field goal.
Pickens, who was traded from the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason, is just behind the Seattle Seahawks’ Jaxon Smith-Njigba in receiving yards this season. On Sunday (November 23), Pickens became the second receiver this season to record more than 1000 receiving yards. Needless to say, the stretch of exceptional performances from Pickens has analysts singing his praises.
Dan Orlovsky is one of those voices. The former Detroit Lions quarterback recently spoke about Pickens after his exemplary performance against the Philadelphia Eagles and felt that the 24-year-old wideout has performed in such a way that he is making his case to being the best wideout in the history of the league.
I think [George] Pickens has absolutely played himself into the conversation for being the best receiver in football.
Dan Orlovsky said on Monday’s episode of Get Up
Orlovsky commended the way that Pickens runs routes as well as how he completes the catch as far in the downfield as possible.
The Dallas Cowboys 2026 squad to feature George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb
Georgia alum George Pickens arrived in Dallas as a wide receiver with on-field inconsistency, injury concerns, and off-field disciplinary issues. However, in a short time, he has impressed the fans and the NFL world with multiple 100-yard games. He has also won the heart of the team’s business mogul owner, Jerry Jones.

With the Cowboys riding strong performances over the past two weeks, Jones didn’t hesitate to spotlight Pickens as one of the driving forces behind the team’s recent surge.
George has been such an integral part of our story, and he has his story, to a degree that’s our story. I’m so proud for him. Everybody on this team is, and he certainly has absolutely been the difference as we’ve played over the last two weeks… it’s something when you’ve got [CeeDee Lamb] and Pickens.
Jerry Jones said via the team’s website
The connection between Prescott and Pickens has quickly become one of the Cowboys’ most reliable weapons, contributing to their offensive consistency during a crucial stretch of the season.
Jones made it clear that Pickens’ future in Dallas is a priority. He said that they would love to have him on the team and added that he would love to have CeeDee Lamb as well. The GM cum owner acknowledged that he understood what they were asking for within the organization, but noted that they were very pleased with how the combination was allowing them to execute on offense.
Of course, of course. We are proud to have him, and I don’t even want to play games with it.
Jones said when asked about wanting Pickens back for 2026 and beyond
With the playoffs race tightening, the Dallas Cowboys return to action in a thrilling Thanksgiving game against the defending AFC champions on Thursday. The Cowboys currently hold a 17% percent chance of making the playoffs. A win over the Chiefs doesn’t just guarantee a better record but a major upgrade to their motivation for the remaining season.
