George Pickens’ uncertain future stole the spotlight during the Super Bowl media session, as quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb both shared their hopes of teaming up with the Georgia alum in 2026. Does Jerry Jones hold the same view as his players?
Jones traded a 2026 third-round and a 2027 fifth-round draft pick to acquire Pickens from the Steelers after he fell out of favor in Pittsburgh. The move was met with severe backlash, mainly due to Pickens’ past as a troublemaker. However, Jones backed him to succeed in Dallas.
Despite sharing the field with Lamb, the 24-year-old finished as the Cowboys’ leading playmaker with 93 receptions, 1429 yards, and 9 touchdowns in 17 games. Sure, the Cowboys missed the playoffs for the second straight year, but Jones discovered his next project to invest in.
Last year, the Cowboys lost a valuable cog of the defense. Micah Parsons was traded after he and Jones couldn’t come to terms on a fair contract extension. Parsons wanted Jones to negotiate with his agent, but the veteran owner refused.
After weeks of speculation, Parsons signed with the Packers. Jones must make sure to avoid making the same mistake with Pickens. That’s why he’s been in contact with the Pro Bowl MVP.
I’m talking to George all the time by virtue of my excitement for him. He’s better than, as far as what he contributed to our team, showing the potential that he could contribute.

Just watched the pro bowl highlights and all I can say is

-Dak and Jalen running a pitch pass together for a TD healed a piece of me
-Pickens might be the best WR in the league
-Only took a meaningless pro bowl game to get Jalen a real coordinator lmao
-Micah is hilarious pic.twitter.com/8anBVSyxFB
Ironically, Pickens is represented by the same agent as Parsons, David Mulugheta. If Jones wants to ensure Pickens stays a Dallas player for a long time, it’s imperative that he work things out with Mulugheta.
I’m looking forward to getting things worked out so George can be a Cowboy a long time.
Jones insisted

George Pickens is in demand
Jones needs to move quickly, as players from several teams have already reached out to Pickens, and the player in question is none other than Parsons. According to Lamb, the Packers pass rusher attempted to recruit Pickens during the Pro Bowl games.

Several videos showed Parsons zooming around on a mechanical wheelchair as he recovers from an ACL surgery.
I don’t know what’s going on with him. He’s a little too active to be on the scooter.

Lamb didn’t drop any other names, but hinted that Parsons wasn’t the only liaison in California.
They’re not getting him [George]… He’s a great player, a phenomenal player. He’s a great person. He’s like my brother off the field, he’s like my brother on the field...
Lamb declared
Aside from Lamb, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is a big believer in Pickens. The All-Pro quarterback made it clear that the former second-round pick is a key piece of the Cowboys’ offense.
He’s an important piece of this offense, an important piece of what we’re trying to do,” Prescott said. “I’ll leave it to those guys.

Prescott stated that he will get involved if the situation warrants it, but has faith in Jones to take care of the business side of the negotiations.
Pickens has made 64 appearances between the Steelers and the Cowboys. He has accumulated 267 receptions for 4270 yards and 21 touchdowns.
