George Pickens has a score to settle against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday after he failed to lead the team to victory just two weeks ago. He spurned a great chance at the depth to secure the points, but an off-camera scuffle against the Browns Greg Newsome II got in his way.

Fast-forward to Friday, December 6, the Steelers had ended their latest practice session, and the reporters flocked to the locker room to get a statement from Pickens about his revenge game on Sunday.

Pickens was asked if he had the chance to speak with Newsome since their last meeting or if he would have a chat once they met on the field. The third-year receiver replied he had no clue who Newsome was.

I don’t even know who that is.

Newsome caught a whiff of Pickens’ statement, and he replied back with a screenshot. Pickens sent him a Direct Message (DM) on social media, as shown in the photo.

Greg Newsome throws shade at George Pickens for being undisciplined

Pickens is a fantastic player; in fact, he is among the best third-down receivers in the league. He averages 15.5 yards per catch and has 23 receptions from 55 attempts, contributing to more than 300 yards.

However, Pickens has a glaring problem that most teams try to exploit during games. He loses his cool very easily. Since entering the league back in 2022, fans witnessed several heated moments from him, including last week when he taunted the Cincinnati Bengals fans and hit one of their players with the ball.

These sorts of antics can ruin the reputation of a player. Fortunately for Pickens, he has Mike Tomlin as his head coach, who spoke with his receiver afterward to calm him down.

Newsome, on the other hand, took the banter to a new level. He flat-out highlighted Pickens is hard to control.

I mean, a guy like him, it’s obviously hard. That happened our game. He got two more penalties the next game, so that’s just a trend that he does.

The 24-year-old said he is the opposite of Pickens and prefers a more professional approach when a game is live.

After losing to the Browns in the snow, the Steelers bounced back to beat the Cincinnati Bengals the following week to improve their record to 9-3. The Browns, on the other hand, played out a blockbuster game against the Denver Broncos.

Quarterback Jameis Winston threw for more than 450 yards and four touchdowns while receiver Jerry Jeudy crossed 200 receiving yards. However, Winston also conceded three turnovers, including a couple of pick-sixes, which cost them the game. The Steelers are overwhelming favorites to secure their tenth win of the year by beating the Browns.
