Gervonta Davis has found himself in hot water after an arrest warrant was issued under his name a few weeks ago. Recently, developments have suggested that the Police ended a two-week search after arresting the boxing superstar in Miami. Authorities said an arrest warrant stemmed from an alleged October 2025 incident involving Davis and his former girlfriend, Courtney Rossel, in Miami.
According to police reports, Rossel told investigators that Davis confronted her inside a Miami Gardens nightclub during late-night hours. She testified that Davis grabbed her hair and throat, then forcefully dragged her toward a parking garage outside the club. The ex-girlfriend stated she repeatedly told him to stop, fearing for her safety as onlookers watched nearby during the incident.

She later escaped and reported the alleged assault to co-workers before formally contacting Miami Gardens Police that same night. Investigators reviewed surveillance footage, which they say coincided with key portions of the woman’s account inside and outside the venue area.
The prosecutors charged Davis with battery, false imprisonment, and attempted kidnapping under Florida law following the investigation process. After weeks of unsuccessful attempts to locate him, police coordinated with federal marshals to execute the arrest in Miami.
Gervonta Davis was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center pending initial court proceedings. The alleged victim also filed a civil lawsuit accusing Davis of emotional distress alongside the criminal accusations.
Court records show a judge set Davis’s bail at $16,000 following his arrest on the listed charges. He was released after posting bond, though the case remains active with future hearings expected in the Miami-Dade County court.
The arrest significantly disrupted Davis’s boxing career, halting fight plans and raising questions about his future as legal proceedings continue. Davis has not publicly shared a statement, and his legal team has urged patience as courts proceed with the case.

After the Davis fight collapsed, Jake Paul shocked fans by bringing in heavyweight star Anthony Joshua as a replacement opponent. Many experts called the matchup bizarre and dangerous, questioning Paul’s decision to face an elite heavyweight champion. Paul ultimately lost the bout and suffered a broken jaw, yet reportedly earned over $90 million from the blockbuster event.
In recent times, Davis has somewhat become a laughing stock in the boxing circle, with fighters like Ryan Garcia often making fun of his arrest. On the other hand, Davis’ WBA moved him to champion in recess status. The decision allows the WBA to crown a new lightweight champion while leaving ‘Tank’ a possible return path later.
