Vasiliy Lomachenko has bounced back after his loss to Devin Haney. Furthermore, he also defended his country during the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Since Lomachenko is back, he seems to have caught Gervonta Davis‘s attention, and the young boxer has revealed that he intends to fight Lomachenko.
The 36-year-old showed that he still has what it takes when he defeated George Kambosos. Many assumed that his inactivity might cause him to have a hard time. However, Vasiliy Lomachenko dominated the fight. The legendary boxer knocked down Kambosos several times before winning via TKO in the 11th round. Subsequently, while the fight was happening, Davis announced his intent to fight Lomachenko.

Tank responded to a fan on X who stated that Davis would never fight Lomachenko. This is mainly because he is regarded as a master technician inside the ring. However, Davis shut this notion down and announced that he intended to fight Lomachenko next. He will first take on Frank Martin on June 15.
Later, Davis deleted his tweet, but his intent to fight Lomachenko appears to be true. Furthermore, Lomachenko also secured the IBF lightweight title after his victory over Kambosos on May 12. Hence, a fight between them seems plausible since Davis is the WBA ‘super’ lightweight champion.

Even though Tank deleted his tweet, his callout went viral on social media. As such, Lomachenko was also informed about it during his post-fight interview after defeating Kambosos. Furthermore, the 36-year-old boxer mentioned that he has never run away from a fight in his career.
He mentioned that he intends to rest and will plan his next fight after recovering. Hence, Lomachenko appears to be ready to face the undefeated boxer and might attempt to secure his next world title.
Lomachenko has also reflected on his retirement and age and mentioned that he will retire in the next 1-3 years. This is because he is pushing 40, and his recovery has become slow after each fight. This is why Lomachenko might pursue a big fight with Gervonta Davis to further solidify his legacy before retiring.
In case you missed it!
