For some, Shakur Stevenson is one of the biggest stars in the lightweight division. However, this has remained a highly debatable topic after his recent performance. Stevenson’s presence in the lightweight division remains overshadowed by PPV star Gervonta Davis. As such, this has caused them to be pitted against each other by the boxing world until they actually enter the ring.
Subsequently, the discussion of their fight and their personal rivalry may finally lead to a fight since both have shown an interest in fighting each other. Most fans consider this matchup a classic skill vs. power match, pitting two unbeaten boxers against each other. While some argue that Stevenson is a formidable opponent for Gervonta Davis, Tank does not believe this at all.

As such, ‘Tank’ has time and time again downplayed Stevenson’s boxing skills and sees him as a walk in the park. Furthermore, he believes Stevenson would run away from him inside the ring like he did with Edwin De Los Santos. Davis also announced his intent to fight Shakur Stevenson during an interview with “Cigar Talk.”
The interviewer asked ‘Tank’ if he thought Stevenson would be his hardest opponent. However, Davis scoffed at this statement and dismissed the notion that he would struggle against Stevenson. In addition, he justified his claim by questioning Stevenson’s power, defense, and achievements.

Devin Haney, Teofimo Lopez, Stevenson, and Davis are known as the four kings of the lightweight division. They have delivered stellar performances consistently across their illustrious careers. Hence, this has always caused them to be matched against each other. As such, this is not the first time a fight between Davis and Stevenson has brewed.
Stevenson caught notice of Tank’s recent comments recently. Most of the comments referenced Stevenson’s lackluster performance against De Los Santos, which almost caused Stevenson to retire temporarily. Subsequently, the young boxer responded to Tank’s comments on X and firmly warned him.
While the boxing world has begun to undermine Stevenson’s skills as a boxer, he still believes in himself. In addition, Shakur Stevenson is sure that he will succeed in making the impossible happen by making Davis regret his words on fight night.
