Get, Set, Ready for a Possible Serena-Venus Epic clash

The world came to a standstill due to the COVID-19 pandemic and only recently some normalities resumed. There is no exception to tennis, which, for nearly four months, did not witness a single match. During this time the French Open got postponed and the Wimbledon was scrapped off too for 2020. Last week only a tennis tour resumed in Palermo and it looks like more good news is in store for the tennis fans.
In the coming week, some of the best female tennis stars in the circuit will be in action in Kentucky, USA. The likes of Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Victoria Azarenka, Johanna Konta, and many more will grace the event, hoping to shrug off the rustiness due to the worldwide lockdown and resume the season with a bang.
Williams Sisters Facing Off Each Other
The 23-time grand slam champion Serena will begin her campaign against Bernarda Pera. On the other hand, her sister Venus Williams and Victoria Azarenka, both of whom are multi-time grand slam champions, will square off against each other in the first round. If both the sisters are able to clear their respective first hurdle, it will set-up for a mouth-watering clash between them, marking their 31st WTA encounter.
Epic Rivalry
The matches involving Serena and Venus have always been epic, to say the least. Who can forget the period from the 2002 French Open to the 2003 Australian Open! They played four consecutive finals between them, being the only women to do so in the Open Era, all of which were won by Serena.
They both have been former world no.1 and not only they have played against each other but they have in the past combined to play doubles also, becoming a formidable pair. In the head-to-head singles record, Serena leads Venus 18-12 and all the tennis fans will be watching this epic rivalry very closely the next week if at all it happens.
