As the regular season is about to end, the Los Angeles Lakers are looking to secure their spot in the play-in tournament. The oldest player in the league LeBron James showed up to get the Lakers an essential win. The superstar dominated the scoring board to win a close battle against the Memphis Grizzlies.

LeBron James shook the NBA world with his athleticism and forceful 37-point performance. Even the opposition players were in awe of the 39-year-old’s performance. The Memphis Grizzlies rookie GG Jackson was impressed as he discussed James’ performance in the post-game interview.

According to Jackson, the veteran’s performance of the night showcased his greatness and the competitiveness the star plays with. The rookie on the other hand also left his mark as he was the leading scorer for his team with 31 points. The young players of the Grizzlies tried their best but were unable to stop the Lakers star duo.

With James, Anthony Davis also had an incredible performance. The 31-year-old scored an impressive double-double with 36 points and 14 rebounds. Both players’ big minutes were important for the Los Angeles Lakers to win as the team has now moved to the 8th spot in the Western Conference.

LeBron James had high praise for rookie GG Jackson

After the Lakers vs. Grizzlies game last month, the oldest player in the league had high praise for the youngest player in the league. The star clarified that this was not his first time witnessing Jackson’s game and he was already aware of the rookie’s talent.

James revealed that he watched Jackson play at the Peach Jam tournament when he was on team CP3 and called him one of the best players in the tournament. The Lakers forward also disclosed that Jackson was teammates with James’ nephew in South Carolina. 

So I got the opportunity to watch him a lot there. But he has gotten better and better every time he stepped out on the floor for his ball club. It's good for him to get this experience early on in his career.

Jackson’s NBA career did not start strong as he was the 45th pick in the second round of the draft. But the youngster has certainly proved his credibility despite his 2023 draft rank. He is even getting considered in the list of best rookies this season.
