Wednesday night saw the end of the 2024 MLB season as the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the New York Yankees 7-6 in Game 5 and won the World Series. Following this, Juan Soto‘s future would become one of the talking points. Giancarlo Stanton would later offer him some advice.

In the post-game media media interview, Soto revealed that he is available to all 30 teams in the league. The Yankees remain the front runners to re-sign him during the offseason. Nevertheless, teams like the New York Mets and the Dodgers themselves are reported to be interested in him.

As per a recent report from Jon Heyman of the NY Post, the Dodgers could pursue him if he is interested. The Dominican international is expected to land a deal similar to Shohei Ohtani‘s with the Dodgers.

The two-way Japanese star penned down a $700 million, 10-year deal in the offseason last year. This talks of the Dodgers chasing Soto are further explained by the fact that the 26-year-old was spotted hanging out with several Dodgers stars during the Home Run Derby in July this year.

Juan Soto admits leaving the Yankees will be ‘hard’ during free agency

After a disappointing loss in Game 5, Juan Soto was spotted as the last Yankees star to leave the dugout area. This happened while the Dodgers celebrated their win. Later in the press conference, he was asked whether it would be tough to leave the Yankee clubhouse.

The star player admitted that it would be ‘hard.’ Reflecting on his 2024 season, Soto claimed it had been a ‘blast‘ for him and the place was really special.

Leaving any place that is a winning team is always hard. Definitely, this place was very special. It’s been a blast for me. I’ve been really happy. If I’m here or not, I’ll be really happy for the things that happened and the people that I got to know in here. This was a really special group. But at the end of the day, we will see what’s going to happen.

Juan Soto said in the press conference.

Speaking about his season, Soto finished the regular season with a .288 batting average while hitting 41 home runs and collecting 109 RBIs. In the postseason, he batted with a .327 average with four home runs and 9 RBIs. With Scott Boras as his agent, Soto will likely earn a huge deal. Only time will tell which team he’ll sign with.
