The New York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton played a crucial role for the team amidst fans’ outrage over his slumping performance. Stanton’s struggles with injuries and lacking performance earned criticism over time, but October became a turning point for both him and the team.

Last November, Yankees executive Brian Cashman said that Stanton is one of the most dangerous hitters in MLB with his full health. The team did not lose hope and waited for the 34-year-old to bounce back, which he did, and boosted them for the World Series.

2023 was not for Giancarlo Stanton, as he produced career-low scores and spent most of his time on the injured list. However, his positive attitude and ability to block all outside “noise” led him to success.

This success was not only for him, as manager Aaron Boone noted that this ability inspired many in the NY Yankees locker room. His speech in 2021 hyped up the team to maintain focus on the game after their wild-card loss at Boston.

He’s battled some tough injuries along the way, but he always shows up when we need him. He’s such a leader. He may not be as vocal as others, but when he needs to speak, people always listen.

Meanwhile, Aaron Boone admired his focus and his ability to completely tune out the noise and “just go to a different place mentally.” Giancarlo Stanton enjoyed one of his best seasons in 2024 with 27 HRs, 72 RBIs with .773 OPS.

He’s just so good at tuning out the noise and getting himself to a place mentally where he’s so locked in pitch to pitch and what he’s faced with doing and doesn’t scare – doesn’t get up or down from a result.’

Following the ALCS win, Stanton spoke about how his main priority is the World Series Championship, and the ALCS MVP award is only a trophy on the way. He said he was never upset about the boos from the crowd as it’s their right to want to see results and the team has just produced that opportunity together.

NY Yankees and LA Dodgers re-ignite decade old rivalry

It’s been 43 years since the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers stood against one another at the World Series. Moreover, it’s the first time in 15 years since 2009 that the Pinstripes qualified for the Fall Classic challenge.

Their rivalry was one to go down in history but they never got that chance to face one another until now on the big stage. Furthermore, the rivalry goes deep down apart from the teams, and between managers.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone and Dodgers manager Dave Roberts are longtime rivals and have been bitter competitors since their collegiate days. Despite not liking one another, Roberts acknowledged Boone’s talent, saying,

We weren’t friends — I think at that point in time, I didn’t care too much for him and I don’t think he cared too much for me. I do recall they probably got the best of us back in the day, so that probably enhanced my distaste for him and the Trojans. But he was always a heck of a ballplayer.

The transition from being opponents on the field to major league competitors will be nothing but interesting to watch on Friday. The Dodgers Stadium will be lined up with some of the best Major League Baseball players like – Aaron Judge, Shohei Ohtani, Juan Soto, and Mookie Betts.
