NY Yankees Giancarlo Stanton won the ALCS MVP award by a unified vote from all teammates. Stanton’s injury-ridden season took a hit in 2024, but he managed to earn his spot in the roster in the latter half of the regular season games.

With the New York Yankees facing the Los Angeles Dodgers, the iconic World Series is scheduled to start on Friday. It’s the first time since 2009 that the pinstripes clinched the ALCS title to play in WS.

While many Yankees players can be considered MVP-caliber in the lineup, two of them who stood out most, especially in the final game against Cleveland Guardians, were – Juan Soto and Giancarlo Stanton. Their performance boosted the team to their World Series dream.

While Soto has been recording crazy scores with the Yankees since his signing, the same cannot be said about Stanton. He struggled to get back into form for quite some time, and the fans did not take it lightly.

However, before Saturday night’s game, NY Yankees executive Brian Cashman talked about the outfielder and his slumping performance. He stated that there was never a moment where he regretted signing Giancarlo Stanton, and he has proved his worth in this postseason run.

I never had any regrets about acquiring Giancarlo Stanton. (He) has been a part of our solution, not part of our problem…I think the narrative of his career is the narrative of the Yankees…It’s the nature of the beast.

Brian Cashman said as per Dan Martin of NY Post.

Cashman talked about how the Yankees were also booed when they performed poorly but celebrated when they won. According to him, it was the same scenario with Stanton. “He did his part,” Cashman noted.

With a roller-coaster 2024 ride, Stanton blasted a two-run shot in the 6th inning to tie the game against pitcher Tanner Bibee. The slugger suffered from frequent IL visits and many even said to remove or trade him from the team. However, his stellar October performance has turned the script upside down.

John Sterling to yet again call for World Series with the Yankees

It’s been quite an emotional ride for the New York Yankees, starting with the slumping regular season games to the iconic October game performance. They reached the World Series for the first time in 15 years. The last they went to WS was when Derek Jeter was in the Bronx.

The 2024 ALCS series closed off with champagne and crazy celebration on the field as the Yankees won 5-2 against Guardians. Much to the fan’s excitement, the final curtain fell with John Sterlinf’s iconic call for the pinstripes as they advanced to the World Series.

Ballgame over. American League Championship Series over. Yankees win. Theeeeeee Yankees win. And the Yankees are going nuts on the field. It’s a group hug, like the end of the ‘The Mary Tyler Moore Show.’ It’s a group hug, and they jump up and down. Terrific. Terrific.

Sterling retired back in April but came out of retirement for one final playoff call. Known as the voice of the Yankees, the 86-year-old commentator will be heard again in the World Series. He’s been the pinstripes’ voice for 36 years.
