There is no doubt that Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the best players in the NBA today. While his performances have not translated into playoff success in recent years, he is still a player who could shift the tide to his favor whenever needed. However, the whole situation surrounding Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks is looking very grey at the moment. Things have been getting worse and worse for the club this season.

It is no longer a secret that Giannis Antetokounmpo wants to leave the Milwaukee Bucks. The ‘Greek Freak’ requested a trade in the offseason, but no deal materialized, so Antetokounmpo decided to stay for another season. But it appears that the Bucks forward is running out of patience after a poor start to the season.

With Antetokounmpo ruled out for the next few weeks due to injury, the Bucks suffered a 109-99 defeat to the Washington Wizards on Thursday. The loss extended their losing streak to four games, dropping their record to 18-28. At the moment, they are not even in the play-in spots, as they are 12th in the Eastern Conference standings.

With the trade deadline less than a week away, Antetokounmpo took to social media to chase a potential endorsement with contraceptive company Trojan. He referenced Kevin Durant’s deal with skincare brand CeraVe and Kendall Jenner‘s deal with Fanatics as the blueprints. The forward wrote:

Trojan, what’s up? I’m curious to see if your product works.

Despite the Bucks’ poor record, Antetokounmpo is posting impressive numbers and is currently averaging 28 points, ten rebounds, and 5.6 assists while shooting at 64.5% from the field. Hence, the Bucks will find several suitors for the Greek superstar.

Strongest suitors for Giannis Antetokounmpo

While Antetokounmpo has come out and said that he would never ask for a trade from the Bucks, it appears that the club has decided to move on from their all-time points leader. On Tuesday, it was reported that the 31-year-old is ready for a new home at the trade deadline.

NBA Insider Shams Charania, who reported that the Bucks are willing to let Antetokounmpo go, revealed his strongest suitors on the Inside the NBA tip-off show.

Giannis has informed the necessary Bucks officials that he believes that the time has come now for both of the sides to move on after 13 years. There are teams in both conferences. I would look at Minnesota and Golden State in the west. New York and Miami in the east. Those are four of the strong suitors for Giannis right now on the market.

With Antetokounmpo ruled out for four to six weeks due to an injury he suffered against the Denver Nuggets, it looks like he has played his final game for the Bucks if he is traded at the trade deadline. The Bucks will want plenty of draft compensation to hit the ground running in a rebuild if they trade their franchise superstar.

Draymond Green responds to Giannis-Warriors trade rumors

After Jimmy Butler suffered an ACL tear, which has ruled him out for the rest of the season, there have been several reports linking the Golden State Warriors to the 2021 NBA Finals MVP. Multiple different trade packages of players and draft picks have been reported.

As one of the well-known frontrunners, the Warriors are willing to do everything to win the Antetokounmpo race, even if it means sacrificing Draymond Green. The Warriors veteran had his say on the whole situation.

I’ve been here for 14 years, I have no reason to sit and worry about leaving. But if I’m traded, that’s part of the business. It is what it is. I ain’t losing no sleep, though. I slept great last night, longer than I’ve slept in a long time.

With Stephen Curry the only untouchable player on the roster, all eyes will be on the Warriors till the trade deadline. If they do manage to acquire Antetokounmpo, it will create a lot of noise in the Western Conference.
