The Milwaukee Bucks are spiraling downward after dropping two consecutive games in the season. Following a disappointing 115-102 defeat to the Brooklyn Nets, their record currently stands at 1-2. With early challenges looming for the Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo shows concern for the team’s future.

The Bucks displayed a lot of promise in their season-opener victory against the Philadelphia 76ers. Things then sprang backward after the team proceeded to lose to the Chicago Bulls and the Nets, whom many consider to be lottery teams.

Gotta find ways of how to win a game, right now we don’t have an identity… how are we going to win the game? Are we going to defend for 48 minutes? Are we going to move the ball for 48 minutes?… We’ve gotta find an identity. We don’t have that right now.

The 7-footer touched on the team’s lack of purpose on both offense and defense. Rightfully so, there were segments in the game where the duo of Damian Lillard and Antetokounmpo appeared confused. With the Bucks’ title hopes in jeopardy, head coach Doc Rivers is riding a very hot seat.

Ever since the management hired their new head coach, the Bucks sported a record of 18-21. Given the current performance of the team, the Bucks are in dire need of a switch. With the team facing the Boston Celtics next, the coaching staff will have to be more than perfect to save faces.

Thanasis Antetokounmpo’s absence looming over the Bucks upcoming season

Thanasis Antetokounmpo is a name that fans of the NBA associate with nepotism and trolls. For years, his image was seemingly fixed as the butt of jokes for most, but his impact on winning was undeniable. Recently, various NBA veterans like Jeff Teague and Gilbert Arenas came to the support of Thanasis, highlighting his importance for the Bucks.

During the offseason, the team decided to not resign Thanasis, blaming a failure in the contract agreement. Many speculate his Achilles injury to be the cause of the decision. The team then signed 7-footer Liam Robbins to a two-way NBA contract in place of Thanasis.

With his brother’s [Giannis] performance taking a dip, a veteran presence like Thanasis is sorely needed. Despite being a non-rotational player, Thanasis showed great presence and energy during games and was known to be the glue guy in the locker room. In line with his ACL rehab, the one-time Champion could be added back to the roster in the coming months.
