San Antonio Spurs rookie star Victor Webanyama was drafted first overall in the 2023 NBA draft. Since then, he has remained the talking point of most fans, analysts, and even NBA superstars. He showed his true potential last season and carried the Spurs on his back for the season. Although his Spurs didn’t make the playoffs, Wemby showed the signs of a future All-Time great.
Recently, Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo talked about Victor Wembanyama. The Greek superstar knows about the expectations Wemby has been carrying since he was drafted in the league. Speaking to the Boardroom, Giannis Antetokoumpo praised the young rookie and made some bold predictions.

Both Antetokounmpo and Wemby are players who came to the league transitioning from Europe to the NBA. However, Antetokounmpo was not a hyped prospect entering into the draft like Wembanyama and was selected 15th overall. The Greek superstar certainly knows about the pressure of the NBA and proved all the critics wrong when he won his first championship in 2021.
Wemby certainly has a bright future ahead. He even won the Rookie of the Year award last season and had one of the best rookie seasons in a long time. The Spurs star averaged 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game. It will be interesting to see Wembanyama in the next season and how much he has improved on his game.
Victor Wembanyama and France reach the Olympics finals
On Thursday, France faced off against Germany in the Paris Olympics semi-finals. France defeated Canada to reach the semi-finals. Both teams were considered strong when entering the tournament. The game was really intense and was going to a close ending. eventually, France managed to win with the final score of 73-69.
French star Victor Wembanyama had 11 points and seven rebounds in just under 32 minutes of action. Although Wemby was not efficient enough in the game, as he went just 4-17 from the field, his defense was the difference maker. Throughout the tournament, Wemby has played a crucial role for the French national team.
Wembanyama made the Olympic finals at the age of just 20 years. France will now face the formidable Team USA in the finals. He will give his all to win the gold medal, which will also be a momentum booster entering next season.
