Giannis Antetokounmpo in action against San Antonio Spurs
Giannis Antetokounmpo justifies why he has climbed the ladder in the MVP rankings after dispatching another game changing double-double that helped Milwaukee Bucks register their 6th consecutive victory, the longest in this season. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 26 points along with season-best 15 assists to ensure Bucks beat Spurs 120-113.
However, it wasn’t only Giannis, but Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday were also impressive knocking down 23 and 21 points respectively. Talking about who led for the San Antonio Spurs, it was Lonnie Walker with career-best 31 points and DeMar DeRozan who added 22 points.
Milwaukee rallied to take a 43-42 lead on a 3-pointer by Connaughton and trailed again briefly before grabbing a 57-50 halftime lead. Holiday scored 14 points in the half and Middleton added 10.

The Spurs trailed 98-94 with 8:32 left after a jumper by Walker. Middleton responded with a 3-pointer and Pat Connaughton scored a layup off an assist by Antetokounmpo. Two more 3-pointers by Middleton in the final 5 minutes helped the Bucks pull away and the Greek Freak added a powerful dunk and a 3-pointer.
Holiday was fouled by Devin Vassell on a 3-point attempt with five-tenths of a second left in the third quarter and Holiday made all three free throws to give the Bucks an 88-84 lead.
The Spurs led by as many as 14 points in the first half, sparked by a strong start from DeRozan, who had eight points in the opening quarter.
With Brooklyn Nets losing their most recent game against Orlando Magic, the Bucks seem to be in just touching distance to crawl behind Philadelphia 76ers after this impressive win.
