Brian Burns crashed out inside the Mile High tunnel after the final whistle on Sunday. His New York Giants gave up 30+ points against the Denver Broncos in the fourth quarter.
The Giants arrived in Denver on the back of an impressive win over the defending Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. They started in a similar fashion with quarterback Jaxson Dart connecting with tight end Daniel Bellinger to open the scoring.
Dart followed that up with a tight pass to running back Cam Skattebo to take a 13-0 lead in the first half. Tyrone Tracy increased the score further with a 31-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter.
The Broncos got one back when quarterback Bo Nix found Troy Franklin inside the end zone at the start of the final quarter.
Rookie TE Theo Johnson‘s touchdown three minutes later seemed like the final nail in the Broncos’ coffin, but Sean Payton‘s team wasn’t ready to throw in the towel just yet.
Despite taking multiple sacks from Brian Burns, Nix scrambled for not one but two touchdowns on the ground. The second-year Broncos QB also set up freshman RB RJ Harvey for a two-yard touchdown to take their first lead in the game with under two minutes left until the final whistle.
Dart, as he has so often done since taking over Russell Wilson, rushed through the Broncos’ stingy defensive line to score a touchdown. Initially, the referee marked him short of the goal line, but the ruling was overturned after a lengthy review.
The Giants had their lead back and could have extended it further. However, kicker Jude McAtamney missed the one-point try, leaving Dart in complete disbelief.

Denver needed just 4 plays to get Wil Lutz into the field goal range. Lutz scored from 39 yards to secure a historic 32-33 win for the Broncos, who improved to 5-2 (top of the AFC West).
I am utterly amazed and how the @Giants find ways to lose games. Blow a 19-0 lead. Defense surrenders 33 points in THE 4TH QT. And their kicker — his only job — misses two xtra points. @Giants lose to @Broncos 33-32.#Disgraceful!

The Giants surrendered the game from a 19-0 deficit. Broncos became only the third team since 1991 to score 33+ in the fourth quarter.

No wonder, Brian Burns wasn’t in a good mood after the final whistle. They had the game in the bag until choking it in the final moments.

Brian Burns vented his frustration following the Giants’ loss against the Broncos
Burns was in red hot form heading into the week seven fixture. He only trailed the Broncos Nik Bonitto by just one sack at the top of the leaderboard.

His 2 sacks in the game increased his season’s tally to 9 (level with Rams pass rusher Byron Young). If the Giants had won the game, then it would be a matter of celebration because he would only need 4 more sacks to surpass his previous best of 12.5 (during the 2022 season with the Carolina Panthers.
Instead, he looked dejected inside the Giants locker room because of the manner in which the Giants had lost the game to the Broncos.
You can’t play three quarters of amazing defense or great defense and give it all away in the end. That’s just shooting yourself in the foot.
