When Ja’Marr Chase left LSU in 2021, they found Malik Nabers as their savior and he indeed turned out to be Chase’s successor. This offseason, the Cincinnati Bengals star wide receiver’s alma mater also joined the world of the NFL after being selected by the New York Giants as the sixth overall pick.

During his time at LSU, Nabers established his prominence by logging the most receptions of the count of 189 and receiving yards of 3,003– the highest in college football. After being selected by the Giants this spring, the rookie receiver impressed many with his offseason performance at the practice sessions, including teammate Darius Slayton

In his recent appearance on the All Facts No Brakes podcast hosted by Keyshawn Johnson, the Giants wideout hyped up rookie Nabers by drawing a parallel between him and his predecessor at LSU, and the Bengals’ star, Chase.

He’s looked good. Honestly in my opinion he reminds me of Ja’Marr Chase, it’s like a clone. Dimensionally they’re about the same, his body movements, it’s actually kind of weird watching him move around. He’s really talented, he’s got good hands.

Despite being the lead pass-catcher, Slayton only posted 770 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 50 catches. But the arrival of rookie Nabers might change things, regardless there don’t appear any restraining relationships within.

Even though last season didn’t turn out as the Bengals had hoped for, Chase made a record by posting 541 yards, which ranked 10th in the league. He also shares great chemistry with star quarterback Joe Burrow since their days together at LSU.

If it wasn’t for the signal-caller’s wrist injury last season, which benched him after week 11 of the 2023 season. For the upcoming season, both the quarterback and wide receiver are aiming to stay healthy throughout the season and hold a dominating standing in the league again.
