The New York Giants have decided to move forward with Brian Daboll as head coach and Joe Schoen as general manager. Despite enduring the most losses in a single season in franchise history, both Daboll and Schoen will remain in their positions for the upcoming season. The team confirmed the decision on Monday, following their week 18 defeat, which resulted in a 3-14 record and secured the No. 3 overall pick in the draft.
Brian Daboll’s tenure with the New York Giants began on a promising note, as the team posted a 9-7-1 record in the 2022 season, earning a playoff berth. They secured a victory over the Minnesota Vikings in the Wild Card Round before suffering a lopsided defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Divisional Round. However, the momentum quickly unraveled.
The Giants finished the 2023 season with a disappointing 6-11 record, partly due to Daniel Jones’ season-ending ACL injury. By 2024, it became increasingly evident that Jones was not the franchise’s long-term answer at quarterback. Compounding the team’s struggles, the Giants allowed star running back and franchise cornerstone Saquon Barkley to leave in free agency, where he signed with the division rival Philadelphia Eagles.
New York Giants HC Brian Daboll and GM Joe Schoen “will continue in their respective roles with the organization,” Giants President John Mara announced in a statement.

In a statement released by John Mara, the owner of the New York Giants expressed that they believe in Schoen and Daboll to implement their vision for the future.
Fans are unhappy with the Giants’ lack of vision
The New York Giants will be picking third in the upcoming draft looking for a quarterback. The Giants parted ways with Daniel Jones after the quarterback continued with dismal performances all throughout the initial part of the season.
Although the upcoming quarterback class is not as dazzling as the previous years, they can scoop up Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward, both who could be developed into potential star signal callers. However, the faith in the team has sunken to new lows. The fans are unhappy with their controversial decisions that have led to the downfall of the team in the recent times. Unsurprisingly, the fans have taken it to the social media to express their frustrations about the team’s current position.
What a pathetic joke of an organization. Take away those 2 wildcard teams and they’re the worst franchise of all time.

Should’ve fired Schoen, good move to keep Daboll nonetheless

Gosh the @Giants are a dumpster fire. Daboll should have been fired last year. The GM as well.

The Giants has a long way to go if they are to emulate successes of previous elite numbers. They will have to take the upcoming draft very seriously if they want to change their doomed fate.
