After their NBA Playoffs loss, the New York Knicks have already experienced some major changes, but despite playing a key role in their postseason run, one of the team’s best stars, Karl-Anthony Towns, still receives a lot of negative press. This was quite evident in the recent episode of the Gil’s Arena podcast hosted by former NBA player, Gilbert Arenas.

During his discussion of the Knicks on his show this week, Arenas made it apparent that the former point guard did not have any good things to say about KAT. Notably, he did not just say ‘negative things’ about him; he went all-out on KAT. Arenas claimed that KAT was built to be a WNBA player and not an NBA player. This was quite a disrespectful remark.

There’s nothing he can do. He’s built like a whole f***ing b***h. He’s built like a female… He has girl hips. He ‘s like a full WNBA player.

Gilbert Arenas said

The Knicks wouldn’t be in the Eastern Conference finals without KAT, but not all of his efforts this series have helped the team win. In five games against the Indiana Pacers, Towns has scored 35, 20, 24, 24, and 24 points. In contrast, in his five games, he has been judged culpable of four, three, five, four, and five fouls.

One of the major reasons Arenas was left annoyed with KAT. Also, he was not the only person to throw shade at KAT. NBA Hall of Famers Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal also had a swipe at KAT for his poor defensive performances in crucial games. KAT, however, took the criticism in a great way and insisted he would improve going forward.

In addition, the team’s annoyance was exacerbated, according to The Athletic’s James Edwards and Fred Katz, when Karl-Anthony Towns ran inaccurate coverages without explaining in the ECF Finals. According to their sources, Knicks players were annoyed by KAT’s failure to recognize the gravity of the situation.

Karl-Anthony Towns underwent multiple surgeries after playoff run

According to reports, KAT sustained a couple of scratches during the New York Knicks’ most recent postseason journey. Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns received treatment for a few injuries he sustained during the team’s recent journey to the Eastern Conference Finals, according to a report from ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne.

Towns had his damaged knee addressed, and the ligament injury in one of his left fingers healed. According to Shelburne, both injuries occurred during the six-game series finale against the Indiana Pacers: Towns was spotted looking at his finger and wincing multiple times after making knee-on-knee contact with Aaron Nesmith of Indiana in Game 4 of the series.

In 18 games, he shot slightly over 48 percent from the field and finished his first New York playoff tour with an average of 21.4 points and 11.6 rebounds. According to Shelburne’s report, Towns chose to start the treatment right away to guarantee the longest possible healing period.

Towns’ Knicks debut, which also included spots on the All-Star and All-NBA teams, ended triumphantly despite the loss, thanks to his impressive statistical performances despite medical difficulties.

Radio host Gregg Giannotti did not hold back against Karl-Anthony Towns’ lacklustre performance

As the response to the New York Knicks’ season ending in an unimpressive manner trickled in, radio personality Gregg Giannotti and former New York Giants star Carl Banks got involved in a social media argument on Monday. Notably, Giannotti went in hard at KAT, calling him a ‘loser’ on his live radio show, leaving fans and Banks stunned.

At the core, he’s a loser. That is their biggest problem. The guy is a loser. He’s a losing player. He complains. He is soft. He shows your flashes where he is the best player on the court. Not enough. He doesn’t play enough defense. He b—-es and moans. He is, up until this point in his career, a loser who is making $50 million who is going to be a logjam as far as them trying to get to the next level.

In response, Banks chimed back as he claimed that ‘there is nothing about KAT that resembles a loser’ on social media, firing back at the radio host. Towns finished Saturday night’s Game 6 loss to the Indiana Pacers with 22 points and 14 rebounds. He was on the floor at minus 17. During the series, he also had three 24-point games, but the Knicks were never able to effectively stop the Pacers on defense.
