LaMelo Ball

The Los Angeles Clippers haven’t had the best of starts to the new season and currently sit at the bottom of the Pacific Division. Each season comes with a certain level of expectations from both fans and critics who are so eager to see them attempt to eclipse their more illustrious neighbors, the Los Angeles Lakers.

On a recent episode of his podcast, “Gil’s Arena,” former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas suggested that acquiring LaMelo Ball could be the spark the Clippers need. The controversial former player-turned-podcaster endorsed Ball as the player to revitalize the team.

He has the game to turn into superstardom, he has the flashiness, the style, and the personality. He could be a Clipper in a new regime. The city would be on fire, that would be must-see TV. You can raise the price on the tickets with how they play the game you’re paying.

Gilbert Arenas said

LaMelo Ball has impressed this season, as he is currently averaging 28.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game. However, his injury history isn’t so desirable and he is contracted to the Charlotte Hornets until 2029.

For the Clippers to make this move a reality, they would need to negotiate a trade. While the feasibility of such a deal remains uncertain, bringing LaMelo Ball back to his hometown could generate significant excitement and potentially transform the Clippers’ fortunes.

LaMelo Ball sizzles out of the gate, makes NBA history

LaMelo Ball has burst out of the gates in the 2024-25 season, as he has shown no signs of rust after he missed three-plus months last year due to ankle injuries. Through six games, the Charlotte Hornets point guard is ranked eighth on the list of leading scorers for the season.

Furthermore, he became the second player in NBA history to make 30 or more threes in his team’s first six games. He has also drained at least four threes in five of six games, including a career-high nine against the Atlanta Hawks.

And as the season progresses, all eyes will be on Ball to see if he can maintain this torrid pace. With his impressive start, he’s already cemented himself as one of the league’s top performers.
