Gilbert Arenas names $200 million superstar to sell out Clippers’ new $2 billion home
Gilbert Arenas suggests Charlotte Hornets' star LaMelo Ball move to Los Angeles to join the Los Angeles Clippers.
LaMelo Ball
The Los Angeles Clippers haven’t had the best of starts to the new season and currently sit at the bottom of the Pacific Division. Each season comes with a certain level of expectations from both fans and critics who are so eager to see them attempt to eclipse their more illustrious neighbors, the Los Angeles Lakers.
On a recent episode of his podcast, “Gil’s Arena,” former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas suggested that acquiring LaMelo Ball could be the spark the Clippers need. The controversial former player-turned-podcaster endorsed Ball as the player to revitalize the team.
“[Lamelo Ball] could be a Clipper in a new regime… the city would be on fire.”

LaMelo Ball has impressed this season, as he is currently averaging 28.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game. However, his injury history isn’t so desirable and he is contracted to the Charlotte Hornets until 2029.
For the Clippers to make this move a reality, they would need to negotiate a trade. While the feasibility of such a deal remains uncertain, bringing LaMelo Ball back to his hometown could generate significant excitement and potentially transform the Clippers’ fortunes.

Furthermore, he became the second player in NBA history to make 30 or more threes in his team’s first six games. He has also drained at least four threes in five of six games, including a career-high nine against the Atlanta Hawks.
Per @Stathead, LaMelo Ball is the second player in NBA history with 30+ 3-pointers in his team's first six games of the regular season, joining Steph Curry (5x)

And as the season progresses, all eyes will be on Ball to see if he can maintain this torrid pace. With his impressive start, he’s already cemented himself as one of the league’s top performers.
