In 2001, the Golden State Warriors selected former NBA star, Gilbert Arenas as their second-round draft pick. Despite being projected as an early first-round pick, Arenas’s draft workout antics rubbed many teams the wrong way, ultimately impacting his draft position. Recently, on his podcast ‘The Gils Arena’, Arenas and his fellow podcasters discussed their rookie season NBA 2K ratings.

On the podcast, co-host Josiah Johnson discussed the 2K ratings of the podcast crew in the rookie season. Gilbert Arenas, a second-round pick, was listed at 66, while Jeff Teague, a lottery pick, was a 64. Arenas hilariously mocked Teague for having a lower rating than him in his rookie season. Johnson then asked Arenas if NBA stars truly care about their 2K ratings. Gil humorously replied that NBA stars don’t concern themselves with their ratings until they hear about another star’s rating.

Arenas was one of the best point guards during his time in the league. Since getting drafted Arenas managed to elevate his game to larger extents highlighted by him winning the Most Improved Player in 2003. Once Arenas reached his prime he was an unstoppable scorer with a great shooting touch.
