The ‘Show Me the Money’ Podcast from UFC fighters Renato Moicano and Gilbert Burns entertains millions of MMA fans. Along with co-host Matty Betss, the group does a deep dive into a number of topics. However, it is the little weird tidbits and interactions that make them what they are.

Champion Islam Makhachev recently defeated short-notice opponent Moicano via submission (D’arce choke) – Round 1, 4:05, at UFC 311. Yet, “Money” Moicano wants to go out like that, on the shield rather than on the sword, in a standup. Burns gave the example of Khalil Rountree and his striking pocket which got immense praise after UFC 307. Mario Bautista won a slow-running split decision on the same card.

“Durinho” argues that Rountree Jr. would get a headlining spot again, or would Bautista despite his win? The Team MMA LAB fighter has been under fire for his slow fadeout of the legendary Jose Aldo for a while now. Moicano, the most ‘Brazilian’ a guy can be in his lingo, tried to answer that but included one too many contractions. Burns took a mickey out of those hiccups, even mimicking a DJ booth. What transpired was a one-of-a-kind howling moment! See the sequence below:

Moicano is a prolific promo cutter on the mic despite being Brazilian. Moicano even went viral taking jabs at French President Emmanuel Macron and the pseudo-democracy. However, contractions in speech can happen to the best of the best. Consequently, it’s not the only instance of the duo entertaining the fans like this.

Renato Moicano and Gilbert Burns are akin to producing viral moments or going deep into tough topics with equal ease. ‘Money’ Moicano, especially, is a bonafide speaker dwelling on many thoughts. He speaks on Ludwig von Mises and the six lessons of the Austrian Economic School as well as his ’62-year-old father’s’ extracurricular thoughts with equal ease.

Burns too is a fan fave due to his friendly disposition to most peers. Hence, another such viral interaction happened between him and Moicano a while back. “Durinho” is currently 38 years old. However, the former title challenger claimed that many people would believe he is 34. Moicano quipped and retorted if a blind man was claiming that to be so.

Despite being a respected figure in the sport, Burns is currently going through a rough patch in the UFC. Durinho is currently on a three-fight losing streak. He has only won two of his last six fights. Moicano bills he’s sharp-edged like a politician and could soon be a fight manager. If so, it’d be better to wear the years with pride and call it as it is.
