Former welterweight title contender, Gilbert Burns believes that the matchup between Nate Diaz and Leon Edwards seems unfair. Leon and Nate are scheduled to fight each other in the co-main event of UFC 262. During an Interview with The Schmo, Brazilian, Gilbert Burns spoke about the fight to happen at UFC 262.
Burns shows much interest in this fight because eventually if the Brazilian wants to get back at the title he will possibly be fighting one of the two fighters in the future. Nate Diaz is making a comeback to the octagon after a considerably long break. The Stockton fighter last fought in 2019 losing to Jorge Masvidal who is now challenging Kamaru Usman for the welterweight title.
Gilbert Burns is pulling for Leon Edwards in the fight as he feels the fighter from England hasn’t had luck on his side for the past year. Gilbert Burns also believes that Leon Edwards is not a fair matchup for Nate Diaz. Leon Edwards is coming off a ‘No contest’ battle against Belal Muhammad.
In the interview with The Schmo Gilbert Burns talks about the fight, “Bad matchup for him. I think Leon Edwards is going to beat him up pretty easy and it’s going to be good for Leon, you know. To be honest, with that one I’m pulling for Leon Edwards. Guy is just having bad luck after bad luck.”

Leon Edwards has been undefeated in his career, not counting the ‘No Contest’ bout against Belal. First the Englishman was scheduled to fight Khamzat Chimaev which was canceled twice due to COVID issues. Gilbert Burns feels this fight is important in terms if getting back on track.
“First the lockdown and then fighting get cancel, the eye poke. I hope nothing goes wrong, he comes to that fight and I believe he’s gonna make a big name out of him with a big win against Nate Diaz. So I want Leon to do good on that one,” Gilbert Burns in the interview.
Gilbert Burns is rumoured to fight Stephen Thompson in the near future and is currently preparing for it. Burns also thinks Leon Edwards will make huge name after beating someone as big as Nate Diaz.
