When it comes to statistics, World No.1 Novak Djokovic should be considered the GOAT (Greatest of all Time), believes former World No. 6 Gilles Simon. Djokovic, with 24 Grand Slam titles, is the most successful player in the history of men’s tennis.

The other two GOAT contenders, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, have 22 and 20 major titles respectively. While Federer retired and Nadal will probably retire after this year, Djokovic is dealing with form issues but is still expected to win more major titles. Many believe that the never-ending GOAT debate will finally end if Djokovic ends up winning a few more Grand Slam trophies.

Statistically, yes. Afterwards, once again, it is the player who has won the most and who must have all the records or almost all the records but not just the Grand Slams. There are a lot of records that are very important. The greatest player of all time, statistically, yes, it's him.
Gilles Simon told Stats Perform

Djokovic is bidding to win his 25th Grand Slam title in the ongoing Roland Garros competition. In his first match, he faced Pierre-Hugues Herbert on Tuesday (May 28th).

Gilles Simon claims Novak Djokovic’s form started declining some time ago

The tennis fraternity wanted to see Novak Djokovic rewrite the history books this year at Grand Slam events after his successful 2023 but his campaigns in the five tournaments he played before Roland Garros have ended in disappointment. It started with a semifinal defeat to Jannik Sinner in Australian Open, followed by the Serb crashing out of several ATP Masters 1000 events.

To get back to his rhythm, the 37-year-old played in the ATP 250 Geneva Open before the French Open but in vain. Once a heavy favorite on the Parisien courts, many think he will be knocked out of the French Open easily. Gilles Simon believes Djokovic’s form started declining some time ago due to his age.

It's more a question of age. There's a break around 37 or 38 when it gets tough. He was playing well last year, he won three Grand Slams, but I've seen him drop for a while now.
Gilles Simon said

Simon, however, said one shouldn’t write off Djokovic, given that he has a history of pulling off incredible results. If the defending champion fails to reach the final, he will lose his No. 1 position to Sinner.
