Gio Reyna on the way to being a star at Dortmund

Reyna is another one of the gems developed by Dortmund over the years. The 17 year old midfielder belies his age and has played in all of the matches in the league for Dortmund. Moreover, he has developed a wonderful understanding with Haaland and their combination has been one of the highlights of the season.
A Star in the making
The youngster from America plays in the attacking midfield for Dortmund. Moreover, Reyna has got 2 goals and a number of assists for the season. However, it’s his combination with Haaland that’s caught the eye of everyone. The two are best of friends and Haaland also drives Reyna to the training ground.
Speaking on Haaland, Reyna said, “On the pitch also, he kind of just told me what he likes and I can play into his strengths, so he told me just to play the ball in behind and I really saw his speed right away and you can see it’s paying off. That chemistry is working and I am just trying to make the whole team’s life easy and especially his.”
He has already been linked to some of the Biggest clubs in Europe including Real Madrid. But, for now Reyna seems focused on helping Dortmund pip Bayern to the title. He praised Dortmund for the trust shown in him and said, “Everything about Dortmund and the opportunities they had, giving young players playing time, playing in the champions league and all of the biggest competitions. They made it feel like home from day 1, made me feel like I was really wanted here, so it has been a perfect decision so far.”
The amount of youngsters coming through from America has been hugely exciting. They will be hoping to challenge for the World Cup of 2022 and beyond as it’s looks like a golden generation coming up.
