Gisele Bündchen is known around the world as a supermodel and entrepreneur, but before all these, she is a humanitarian and environmentalist who has contributed significantly towards uplifting the life and environment of her native Brazil.
Now, as the nation reels under the wrath of incessant rainfall, Bündchen is yet again doing her part to help the people of the nation.
Brazil is facing a rough situation. For the last four days, the southern part of the nation has faced non-stop rainfall, which has resulted in waterlogging and flooding throughout the cities. This has led to the deaths of 29 people and hundreds of others being displaced from their loved ones.
Gisele Bündchen shared a reel on Instagram that showcases an aerial view of the damage done by the flood. Her home state, Rio Grande do Sul, is a town ravaged by floods. The water levels have risen to an extent that it is hard to believe that there was a thriving city in this place before.

Gisele Bündchen is praying for her fellow citizens of Brazil
The Instagram reel that she posted on her story showcases the grim situation as key infrastructure continues to collapse. Recently, a bridge over the Taquari River ended up collapsing, leaving the residents on either side stranded.
Sadness in my state. Praying this rain stops soon.Gisele Bündchen captioned her story
As hard as it is, only divine intervention can bring the situation under control at this juncture. As of now, the number of displaced people stands at 9,000.
Governor Eduardo Leite has declared a state of calamity, and rescue efforts remain hindered owing to the breakdown of infrastructure.
Gisele Bündchen has long been a vocal advocate for growing trees and protecting the environment in Brazil. She helped plant 40,000 trees on her birthday and has been outspoken against the unfavorable agricultural policies of the Brazilian government.
The increase in deforestation has played a part in the situation getting this aggravated, without trees and their roots to stop the loss of soil and slow down the flow of water, the quantum of destruction has increased. Hopefully, the situation subsides at the earliest.
