“Only way you can stop me from eating hamburgers…” Ex-NBA champ Glen Davis gives UNHINGED reaction to 40-month prison sentence for fraud conviction
Glen Davis allegedly committed insurance fraud on the NBPA's player insurance scheme.
Former Boston Celtics star and NBA Champion Glen Davis has an unhinged reaction to being sentenced to prison for 40 months
For Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis, the writing is on the wall. The former Boston Celtics star has been sentenced to a 40-month prison sentence for defrauding the NBA’s health insurance. However, the former NBA champion had an unhinged reaction to this sentence.
After hearing about the sentencing, the former Boston Celtics star went live on Instagram and expressed himself.
Damn. I got a cold imagination. I'm gonna be swell though. I swear to God I'm about to get into so much shape. That's the only way you can stop me from eating hamburgers, to put me in jail. God said, you won't stop eating hamburgers and Cheetos, you going to jail. So now, I'm become the Rock.Glen Davis said
This is probably the most unhinged reaction anyone can give on the thought of going to prison. After all, 40 months of his life will be spent behind bars.
Throughout his career as a basketball player, the former NBA champion always had a fun-filled side. As was evident from his banter in the locker rooms he was a part of. It was also evident in his career choice after he retired from the sport.
However, this seems to have taken it to a different level. Going to prison is not a matter to joke about. He might be right about not being able to eat his favorite meals. But prison life can be tough and could lead to other problems.
Glen Davis, another former NBA player sent to prison
The NBA is usually known as a league where superior athletes come together to play top-tier basketball. However, some of them have a criminal side, which when caught, usually leads to either a suspension or worse, prison time. Glen Davis is certainly not the first NBA player to go to prison.
He joins Charles Smith as being former Boston Celtics players who have or will serve a prison term. Smith was convicted of killing two students in a hit-and-run case back in 1991. Then there was another Eastern Conference compatriot Javaris Crittenton, who is still serving time in prison for murder and other charges.
Davis may not have committed the crimes these others have on their way to jail. However, fraud is indeed a serious crime. That too, he committed it against the very league he played in.
