IPL 2021: WATCH – Glenn Maxwell plays reverse-sweeps and switch hits during nets session with Royal Challengers Bangalore

Glenn Maxwell
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) had a decent Indian Premier League (IPL) season last year, but were unable to win the trophy yet again. The search for their first title win continues agonizingly as the team has some way or the other fallen short of clinching it. The side had a good start to their IPL season last year and were in contention throughout for a top two finish but ended up finishing fourth in the league stages.
They were then ousted from the tournament by an inspired Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Eliminator. This time around, RCB decided to release a sizable amount of their players as they went for a mini-revamp. They brought in the likes of Kyle Jamieson, Glenn Maxwell, Dan Christian and so on who would now want to spark a turnaround in the franchise’s fortunes with regard to getting their hands on the trophy.
Watch – Glenn Maxwell makes merry at the nets

Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell was RCB’s second most expensive buy as they thwarted competition from Chennai Super Kings in the bidding war to secure his services. Maxwell did not have a particularly good IPL season last year for Kings XI Punjab as he struggled to get going with the bat. Having come back to form with the national team, the 32-year-old would want to show what he is capable of.
Maxwell had his first nets session with RCB today and in a video posted by the franchise’s twitter handle, he can be seen having a chat and meeting the rest of the players at the camp before having a hit at the nets. He can be seen making merry by playing his trademark reverse-sweeps and switch hits against the likes of Yuzvendra Chahal. If the session is a sign of things to come, RCB fans would be extremely happy.
RCB begin their IPL 2021 campaign against defending champions Mumbai Indians on the 9th of April in Chennai.
