In Game 4 of the World Series, the offense of the New York Yankees finally came to life as the team smashed three home runs. Gleyber Torres, who was one of the players to homer, admitted that they ‘rushed‘ in the first three games of the series.
During Games 1, 2, and 3 of the series, the Yankee offense struggled a lot. This saw them lose all three games and put them on the brink of elimination on Tuesday night.
In Game 4, they once again found themselves trailing as Freddie Freeman continued his red-hot form and hit a home run again. However, a huge grand slam from Anthony Volpe, a solo shot by Austin Wells, and a three-run homer by Torres sealed an emphatic 11-4 victory for the home team.
Following the game, Torres also claimed that the team finally showed the world what they were capable of offensively.
I think it’s get more consistent as I play. Stay really good at bat. If we don’t have anything to hit, just pass the baton. I think we’ve been doing during the full season, in the last three games, we rush a little bit. But, I mean, tonight we show what we’re capable to do as a team.

Gleyber Torres claims feeling ‘amazing’ by Anthony Volpe’s grand slam in Game 4
Anthony Volpe’s grand slam has been the biggest talking point of Game 4. The shortstop came up clutch in the third inning to turn the game around with his hit. Gleyber Torres admitted that they felt good and amazing after this.

Torres found himself in the middle of controversy in the first period when his fly ball was caught by Mookie Betts. Though the Los Angeles Dodgers would ‘rob’ Torres off an extra-base hit, he got into a tangle with the fans.
A fan tried to steal the ball from Betts’ glove while another one caught the other free arm of the right fielder. Torres was called out on fan interference. With this event causing more drama, the Yankees needed to get their focus back and the grand slam by Volpe helped them with just that.
Feels good. Feels amazing. I mean, he’s been doing, during all the postseason. he’s been doing amazing. And I mean, we really believe he’s capable to do that. in that type of situation, and you know, when he (Volpe) hit that ball, we feel really, really good.

Torres also spoke about his home run. In the interview, he said that he was seeing more pitches and he just tried to put a good swing on it.
Torres and his teammates will now be aiming to keep this momentum going as they prepare to face Jack Flaherty from the mound. For the Yankees, they will have Gerrit Cole starting the game with the hope of another strong performance from him to force a Game 6 on Friday night.
