The Brooklyn Nets have surely become one of the fiercest team in the NBA history. With their recent trade of James Harden to their side, they gave become a championship contender. The Big three of James Harden, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant has got the other teams competing stand and stare. They finally seem to be connecting well. The chemistry between the 3 finally seems to get the Brooklyn Nets going. Yet predictions to their ide of game reveals that it is going to be a tough phase.
The scariest side in the Eastern Conference have moulded the whole of NBA. After a shaky start they have been delivering huge in numbers. However, their crippled defence remains a major headache. They literally average 23rd in their defensive efficiency list. This is a major drawback to their vision eyeing the title. However, this defensive error could cost a fortune predicts Hall of famer Isiah Thomas.
Isiah Thomas on the lack of defence at Brooklyn
The Brooklyn Nets haven’t found a good strategy to pile up their defence. Former NBA player Isiah Thomas said, “I come from that school where defences wins championships, because although you can be great offensively, but if they don’t get their act together defensively, they’re not going to have the type of success that we all know they can have.” He also added, “What we’re talking about today, in terms of Durant, Harden, and now Kyrie Irving to go out on the perimeter, I don’t know if there’s ever been three dynamic perimeter players on the same team at this level ever in the history of the game with the exception of OKC.”
Assembling a super team isn’t enough for the Brooklyn Nets. In order clinch the title, every aspect has to be flawless. However, their defence doesn’t suggest so. Isiah spoke how important it is to get a right defence. Brooklyn nets looks unstoppable offensively. That indeed is a great pull. But if they fall for their defence continuously, they possibly cannot get their hands on the title this year.
