“Going to fight for title next”- Islam Makhachev declares Dana White confirmed he was fighting for the title to Khabib Nurmagomedov

Dana White-Islam Makhachev
UFC Lightweight Islam Makhachev just put out a statement as he is now tied with the current UFC Lightweight champion Charles Oliveira for the longest active winning streak in Lightweight Division i.e. ten. Makhachev is now more than confident that he is going to fight for the title next, at least that’s what UFC President Dana White has told Makhachev’s mentor and former UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. Makhachev just came out defeating Bobby Green within the first round via TKO.

Now Makhachev has significant victories over Green, Dan Hooker, Thiago Moises, Arman Tsarukyan, Drew Dober, Gleison Tibau and many more. Makhachev will most likely face the winner of the current champion Oliveira defending his title against Justin Gaethje at UFC 274 in May 2022.
Islam Makhachev took no time to break the ultimate great news for his career

In an interview with Megan Olivi via ESPN MMA, Makhachev broke the news in relation to the possibility of fighting for the title next which happened not through him but his mentor Khabib.
“Dana just called Khabib and just said ‘he’s gonna fight for the title next,” said Makhachev “Abu Dhabi [place where he wants his title fight to happen] I’m gonna come home soon.”
What do you make of Makhachev’s win at UFC Vegas 49? Do you think a title fight is next for him, if not who do you think Makhachev should fight next? Where do you see Makhahcev’s potential peaking at? Does Makhahcev’s dominance feel like the second coming of Khabib’s dominance?
