Team USA and NBA superstar Stephen Curry speaks at Democratic National Convention to support Kamala Harris
The campaigns for the upcoming Presidential elections are in their closing stages. The Democratic National Convention has turned heads with the sheer number of personalities speaking for Vice President Kamala Harris. Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was one of the speakers on Day 1 of the convention. Today, Team USA and NBA superstar Stephen Curry decided to take on the onus.
The 36-year-old joined the Convention through video conference and was greeted by the Chicago crowd with loud cheers. With the Paris Olympics gold medal around his neck, addressed the crowd.
I believe that Kamala as President could bring that unity back. And continue to move our country forward. This is about preserving hope and belief in our country. The oval office suits you well. In the words of Michelle Obama 'Do something'. Go vote, be active. Let's show out in November like never before. Let's all do our part.Stephen Curry said
Even though it was a pre-recorded voice, Stephen Curry‘s message to the voters resonated as they let out a round of cheers. The superstar does have a lot of fans anywhere he goes.
That last bit was evident in Paris when fans thronged arenas and the streets to get a picture of him. He and the Democrats are collaborating as the timing is also right. They are just coming off a crucial gold medal win. That win helped the United States finish at the top of the medal tally at the end.
No wonder former President Barack Obama even congratulated Steve Kerr for bringing the gold home when the country is so divided heading into these elections. But it seems, first his coach, and now the 2-time League MVP, are doing their part to bring their fans together.
Stephen Curry resonates what NBA stars generally feel
NBA superstars are generally pro-Democrat. However, when current President Joe Biden had the disastrous CNN debate with Donald Trump, the world was shocked. Many started to think that their vote would go to waste, as Biden seemed to struggle with age. Now, with Kamala Harris as the nominee, they are back with their support.
NBA superstars have had a long list of complaints against Donald Trump and how his policies affected their respective communities. Some even went as far as pointing out that his methods were not something that suits a country that continues to call itself the greatest nation in the world.
With the Democratic National Convention gaining back all the time lost to Biden’s campaigns, NBA stars will revert back to support Harris and the Democrats. With the elections in November, expect basketball stars to be more and more vocal during the next regular season.
