Golf superstar Brooks Koepka, who participated in the recently-concluded The Players Championship, wanted to make a young fan’s day very special. And to do the same, the Florida native golfer invited his favourite football player Baker Mayfield to join in.
The beautiful incident took place on March 12 (Saturday) 11-year-old Ethan Evans suffers from Rhabdomyosarcoma at the Players Stadium Course. It’s a type of soft tissue tumour that can appear in the neck, head, arms, or legs. The system of this cancer also includes the bladder and prostate.
A video released by the PGA Tour revealed that the boy at such a young age faces 66 rounds of chemotherapy and he’s just started treatment. Earlier, Brooks, via a video message, had invited the avid golf fan to join him at the TPC at Sawgrass.
“Ethan, what’s up man? It’s Brooks Koepka, just wanted to say first off, keep fighting dude. You got all my support. You’re my hero but the one big thing, next Wednesday at The Players Championship, I want you and your family to come out, check out everything and walk inside the ropes. Do it all and get to hang with me,” he said while inviting the kid along with his family.

Midway during their interaction, Koepka wanted to introduce Ethan to Cleveland Browns’ Baker Mayfield after discovering that he was his favourite NFL player. The golfing star texted the quarterback, and he was expecting to hear from him and the latter quickly responded with a FaceTime call for the young fan.
“Ethan, I’ve got somebody on the phone for you,” said Koepka to Evans, “Ethan, what’s up, buddy?” The Browns star exclaimed in excitement. The golfer asked the boy if he knew who it was? Evans responded, “Baker Mayfield?” This little gesture made the young kid’s day a little more special than before.
