Gareth Bale believes – “Where there is a will, there is a way,” as he skimps past the golf ban rule
Gareth Bale
Gareth Bale has somewhat touched new heights for someone who doesn’t have golf as their primary game. The Welsh superstar is known for playing golf and they say he’s quite good at it. Gareth has however faced serious heat from time to time for his love of golf, especially during his time at Real Madrid.
The Wales National Team has reached Qatar to participate in the FIFA World Cup 2022 for which they have qualified for the first time since 1958 after defeating Ukraine in the WC playoffs earlier in the year.
Manager Robert Page had put a kind of ban on his squad for playing golf, especially his captain Gareth Bale who just can’t keep away from golf. He wanted his squad to focus on the task at hand and why not, after all, the Football WC is the largest sporting event in the world.
The heart wants what it wants as Gareth Bale flies in a golf simulator
Gareth Bale, however, found a new way around the ban and also kind of kept his manager’s word. Bale has reportedly shipped in a golf simulator into his hotel room as a substitution for actually going out to play golf. Oh, what all can one do if he has money, right? The management authorities had already provided entertainment for teams in terms of table tennis and pool but it looks like Bale was really hung up on golf.
The former Los Blancos man plays a single-figure handicap and has added it as extra entertainment gear for the whole team. So much for team bonding, I guess. “Team spirit is great anyway but games like that help you. Gareth’s very good at golf. I think most of us have had a swing and we had a go after training as we had some spare time” – said Mark Harris, Bale’s teammate.
Not just Bale but most of the Welsh team seems to enjoy golf. “It is great fun and competitive. It is a bit of a laugh but you want to win. It’s just been nearest to pin at the minute but I’m sure some lads will play an actual course soon. You can pick a nine-hole or an 18-hole course” – continues Harris. Well, whatever gets them off their high horses, right? We just want to see Wales perform with full intensity and vigor at the FIFA WC 2022 and surprise a few teams in their way.
